According to the National Food Security Act of 2013, India is home to 80 crore beneficiaries who are eligible to purchase subsidized meals and grains. However, the most effective 23 crore ration playing cards were issued that permit beneficiaries to buy subsidized meals and grain from their regionally assigned PDS (Public Distribution System). This becomes specifically difficult for migrants who had migrated to different towns for work. With an ONORC card, a man or woman should buy subsidized meals from any FPS store in any locality and any city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ONORC program has been in operation since April 2018 to convert standard ration playing cards to the One Nation One Ration Card. By utilizing 2022, it may be applied to all beneficiaries in every country and union territory. The number of states and union territories that have enrolled in the “One Nation One Ration Card” program has increased to 20, according to food minister Ram Vilas Paswan, with the addition of three more states: Odisha, Sikkim, and Mizoram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-The Global Hunger Index lists 117 different countries, with India coming in at number 102. The program aims to achieve Sustainable Development Objective 2\u2014Ending starvation with the help of 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
