The MTHL, a six-lane road bridge, connects Sewri and Chirle in around 15-20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The MTHL, the &#8220;longest sea bridge in the country,&#8221; is 22 kilometres long, with 16.5 kilometres above sea level. The MTHL will be the country&#8217;s first to implement an Open Road Tolling (ORT) system. MMRDA also successfully launched the first continuous Orthotropic Steel Deck (OSD) of roughly 22 km in package-2 of the MTHL on January 11, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first OSD of package-2 connecting Mumbai and Navi Mumbai is 180 metres long and weighs 2,300 tonnes. 15 of the 32 OSD spans in the MTHL package-2 have already been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MMRDA is in charge of carrying out the Rs 17,000-crore project, which is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Disclaimer:&nbsp;<\/strong>The views expressed above are for informational purposes only based on industry reports and related news stories.
