Like all other commodities, GST is also applicable to buying and selling of real estate. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>However, a standard GST rate of 12% is applicable across the sector for properties under construction. This rate is quashed for ready-to-move-in and other properties that have received Completion Certification (CC).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertypistol.com\/blog\/interview-house-of-hiranandani-impact-of-gst-rera-pmay-schemes\/\">GST<\/a> council meeting held in 2019, the applicable rates were reduced to 5% from 12% on residential properties. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertypistol.com\/blog\/real-estate-transaction-in-india-what-you-need-to-know\/\">GST on property purchase<\/a> under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertypistol.com\/blog\/multiple-state-government-cuts-stamp-duty-to-promote-affordable-housing\/\">affordable housing<\/a> has been reduced to 1% from 8%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
