It is believed that &#8220;KarkodaganPakkam&#8221; is the source of the term &#8220;Kodambakkam.&#8221; In Hindu mythology, Karkodagan is the name of a renowned serpent. The snake is supposed to have worshipped Lord Shiva here. Even now, several statues and representations of the serpent Karkodagan can be found in the temple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of its\nproximity to the movie studios, several films and television stars have homes\nin and near Kodambakkam.
