The distinction between the two forms of property is self-evident. While a\nproperty obtained with the owner&#8217;s own funds is referred to as self-acquired\nproperty, a property inherited from family members is referred to as ancestral\nproperty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fact that a\nself-acquired property becomes an ancestral property beyond a certain point\ncomplicates the distinction between the two sorts of properties. An ancestral\nproperty can also become a self-acquired property, and vice versa. In the hands\nof a family member, ancestral property shared among members of a combined Hindu\nfamily becomes self-acquired property.
