There are two types: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Allotted Flats:<\/strong> Given to slum residents in exchange for their existing homes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Market Flats: <\/strong>Flats sold by builders on the open market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_it_possible_to_purchase_SRA_flats\"><\/span><strong>Is it possible to purchase\nSRA flats?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whenever it comes to purchasing or selling\nSRA units, the SRA has a set of rules and regulations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The recipient is subject to a 10-year lock-in term, which prevents him from reselling the assigned SRA unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The state government is entitled to a part of the sale price if the property is sold after ten years.<br>This part is known as the transaction fee, and it is required just at time of property registration. This equals the stamp duty or Rs 1 lakh, whichever is more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only a person with a domicile certificate can purchase an SRA unit. In addition, the family must not own any other property in Mumbai&#8217;s suburbs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The original seller is unable to purchase any SRA apartment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The purchaser must be from the financially deprived sector (EWS), the lower-income group (LIG), or the middle-income group (MIG) (MIG).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Both the husband and wife&#8217;s names will appear on the sale document. SRA apartments cannot be purchased by partnership businesses or organisations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Things_to_know_before_buying_an_SRA_Mumbai_flat\"><\/span><strong>Things to know before\nbuying an SRA Mumbai flat<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Verify the estate&#8217;s title document to guarantee that you are purchasing it from the original seller. Only the seller&#8217;s name should appear on the deed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verify the property documentation and title deed with a real estate lawyer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check to see if the owner has a bank release certificate. This would be to guarantee that the seller repays the debt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Just a properly stamped sale document will be used to transfer property ownership. The state housing minister, urban development minister,\ncommissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, and the senior\nsecretary of the urban development and housing department are the other members\nof the Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"GIS_Platform_for_SRA_Projects\"><\/span>GIS Platform for SRA Projects<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has also established a GIS platform, where people and other key stakeholders may examine data gathered by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, with the goal of becoming Mumbai slum-free by 2022.
