The construction of a metropolitan rapid transit system (MRTS) in Kochi, commonly recognized as Kerala&#8217;s commercial capital, would transform the city&#8217;s real estate market, converting many neighbourhoods into sought-after residential destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kochi metro road map depicts the\nnumerous Metro stations in Kochi that are part of Phase 1, Phase 1A, and Phase\n1B of the Kochi metro system. There are 22 metro stations along the line, which\nruns from Aluva to Petta. There are 22 stations in all. In September 2020, the final 1.33-kilometer length between Thaikoodam and Petta was accessible to the public.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Phase 1A of the Kochi Metro (under-construction)<\/strong> : Phases 1A and 1B of the Kochi metro have a total length of 2.94 kilometers. The Kochi Metro Network\u2019s Phase 1A will run for 1.78 kilometers, connecting Petta and SN Junction. This Phase 1A extension of the project, which cost Rs 299.87 crores to build, spans two lengths, from Petta to SN Junction, and contains two stations, Vadakkekotta and SN Junction, as well as a new Panamkutty bridge that is now under construction.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Phase 1B of the Kochi Metro (under-construction)<\/strong> : The metro network&#8217;s Phase 1B expansion will run for 1.16 kilometres from SN Junction to Thirupunithura Terminal. It&#8217;ll be constructed at a price of Rs 162.98 crores.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro (approved)<\/strong> : Phase 2 of the metro line will stretch from JLN Stadium to Infopark, spanning a distance of 11.2 kilometers. It will be an elevated line with 11 metro stations that would reach all the way to Kakkanad, which is a significant residential and commercial area with a SEZ. This project was given Rs 1,957.05 crores in the Union Budget of 2021. Next phase will feature multi-model convergence by smoothly integrating the metro line with water transportation, such as the transit system, the bus system, and bicycle parking, among other things.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Phase 3 of the Kochi Metro (planned)<\/strong> : The metro project&#8217;s third phase includes proposals to expand the route between Aluva to Angamaly. At Cochin International Airport would be linked to the metro line.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Metro_fares_in_Kochi\"><\/span><strong>Metro fares in Kochi<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The ticket for Kochi Metro line 1 varies\nbased on the distance traveled, from Rs 10 to Rs 60. A metro ticket will be\neffective for up to 90 minutes, during which time a customer must depart\nthrough the automated gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Important_information_about_Kochi_Metro_Rail_Ltd\"><\/span><strong>Important information\nabout Kochi Metro Rail Ltd.<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Kochi Metro is the\ncountry&#8217;s ninth interstate metro train project.<\/li><li>The Kochi Metro phase 1 network\nis estimated to cost Rs 6218 crores, with a total length of 25.16 kilometers.<\/li><li>The Kochi Metro Rail Limited\n(KMRL) is in charge of operating the trains.<\/li><li>This will be the first metro\nrail project to have an innovative interaction-based train control (CBTC)\nsignalling system installed.<\/li><li>The Kochi Metro project&#8217;s first\nphase was finished in a record pace of less than four years after construction\nbegan.<\/li><li>It has innovative features such\nas an automatic fare collecting system, free Wi-Fi, and accommodations for the\ndifferently abled, among others.
