On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao launched the first segment of the ambitious Hyderabad metro train, protecting four stations from Miyapur to Kukatpally in its first run. Route<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 30-kilometer-long initial segment of the metro rail project between Miyapur and Nagole, with 24 stops, might begin operations on November 29. The core portion would run from Nagole to Miyapur station, linking three separate corridors of Hyderabad while traveling through the central city areas of Secunderabad, Ameerpet, and Begumpet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ultimate metro line will be a 72-kilometer expedited length that will be completed in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fare<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The concessionaire, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd, maintains a base charge of Rs 10 for a journey of up to two kilometers and a maximum ticket of Rs 60 for a distance of 26 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coaches and timings<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trains are expected to run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on all days, to begin with. Depending on footfall and demand, the hours may be altered to 5.30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The train will begin operations with three carriages, each capable of carrying 330 passengers. The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMRL) has up to 57 carriages available for service. However, depending on the circumstances, the number of coaches might be increased to six in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Security<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 546 security personnel from non-public businesses will guard the 24 stations along the Miyapur-Nagole section. At stations and trains, sophisticated CCTV cameras had been installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Service<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) would initially operate 50 feeder services from and to Metro stations and home colonies, linking them to the IT corridor. For travelers, a creative card has been released. ‘T Savari,’ a cell application, is now online and will provide a simple interface for metro products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The daring endeavor, which began in July 2012, was planned to be completed in June 2017, although defaulted with the help of the major concessionaire and subsequent logistical barriers including land acquisition, approvals from Railways for the train across bridges, and securing ‘property of way’ cause delays. The delay in completing the project will almost certainly increase the cost of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
