Transport and distribution centres would be constructed along the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg, as per the new industrial policy. The Rs 55,000 crore highway would be built as an electric car expressway, with charging points located throughout its whole length. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation would be in charge of designing the industrial layouts (MIDC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government also intends to link Mahamarg to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and the Western Dedicated Industrial Corridor (WDIC) to enable easy connection to the industrial corridors and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) (WDIC). As previously stated, Nagpur and Wadhwa would be significant logistical hubs along the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Project update<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg phase 1 was expected to launch on May 2, 2022, but it has been delayed. The first phase of the project, as per the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), has been postponed because one of the animal crossings has been destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first phase of Samruddhi Mahamarg would be 706 km long, with 210 km available to the public connecting Nagpur and Shelu Bazaar in the Washim district.
