To lessen the environmental benefit, the Noida<\/a> Authority has declared that it would not accept a construction design unless it includes measures for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. According to the authority’s amended Building Manual 2010, these charging stations must take up at least 20% of the parking space. Officials hope that the measure will inspire individuals to buy electric vehicles and adopt more environmentally friendly activities. Furthermore, the move is expected to be cost-effective for the real estate and construction businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

As per the district transport department, Gautam Budh Nagar has a total of 7,88,518 registered cars, comprising 9,683 EVs. It merely accounts for 1.2 percent of the total. There are 99 four-wheelers, 511 e-carts, 1,604 two-wheelers, 7,436 e-rickshaws, one bus, 12 taxis, and 20 others among these EVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ishtyaque Ahmad, General Manager of the Noida Authority, stated that “The construction code was changed on May 13, this year, and the State government accepted it. Building plans will henceforth be permitted unless the builder has provided for the installation of EV charging infrastructure on the site.” The new principle of legality to all sorts of infrastructure projects, including residential, commercial, and development is carried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government cited the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s assessment that rising temperatures might have far-reaching implications if not regulated. “As part of India’s commitment to cut emissions by 33-35 percent besides 2030, the people and the government must take appropriate measures, and highways and expressways should also have e-vehicle charging stations,” said Rajiva Singh, President of the Noida Federation of Apartment Owners’ Association (NOFAA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus far, the Noida Authority has erected 69 electric car charging stations at 54 different sites around the city. Plans for the future involve the installation of 93 additional similar stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
