When did the project begin?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In the 1990s and early 2000s, DSIIDC began construction of around 34,000 apartments for slum residents, of which approximately 1,500 units were finished and turned over to the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Authority for allotment. The development of the additional flats was halted in the middle due to a variety of circumstances, along with a lack of funding and difficulties with land acquisition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Where are the apartments located?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The project has been authorised for Gogha, Bhorgarh, Narela, Pooth Khurd, Baprola, Tikri Kalan, and Bawana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How long does it take to prepare the flats?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It will take about two years to complete the semi-finished apartments that are still in various stages of development. The completed apartments that have been sitting vacant for several years are in disrepair and will be refurbished in around eight months for allocation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The delay in completing these apartments has resulted in a 50% rise in overall construction costs. The Delhi administration has also reached an agreement with the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
