The region was decided upon by the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, VK Singh, who announced it on Monday in response to a query posed by Kanimozhi NVN Somu of the DMK in the Rajya Sabha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some of the most crucial things to remember:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Approximately 4,971 acres of land might be used for the airport.<\/li><li>Parandur and Chennai are separated by approximately 69.7 kilometers.<\/li><li>Parandur and the current Chennai International Airport are around 56 kilometers apart (1hr forty-eight min).<\/li><li>The Parandur airport is around 59 kilometers to the southwest of the current Chennai International Airport and 70 km to the southwest of Chennai Central.<\/li><li>DMK MP Kanimozhi NVN Somu asked about the steps done by the government for the greenfield airport project in <a href=\"https:\/\/propertypistol.com\/chennai\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/propertypistol.com\/chennai\">Chennai<\/a> in a query.<\/li><li>VK Singh responded, &#8220;AAI has assessed that the Parandur and Pannur websites have considerably higher potential for airport enhancement. AAI advised Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO) in the Pre-Feasibility Report to conduct the Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS) survey and mapping work at the two identified locations.
