Role Overview
The Assistant Manager – Tech Operations will be responsible for ensuring smooth functioning of all
technical systems, managing operational workflows, and coordinating between technology, product,
and business teams. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and strong
communication skills to maintain system uptime and process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily technical operations and ensure smooth performance of production systems.
• Manage server health, background jobs, and scheduled tasks.
• Coordinate with engineering, DevOps, and QA teams for deployment and issue resolution.
• Monitor uptime, troubleshoot incidents, and prepare RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports.
• Handle domain pointing, DNS setup, and hosting configurations as required.
• Support integration and maintenance of cloud telephony systems and related call workflows.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions.
• Maintain operational documentation, process flows, and SOPs for tech activities.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve user-impacting issues quickly and effectively.
Skills Required
Technical Skills
• Server & Hosting Management: Basic understanding of Linux/Unix servers, cPanel,
Nginx/Apache, and hosting environments.
• Domain & DNS Management: Strong knowledge of domain pointing, DNS configuration (A,
CNAME, TXT, MX records), and name server management.
• Cloud Telephony Understanding: Familiarity with telephony systems (Exotel, Knowlarity, Twilio,
etc.), IVR flow management, and call routing setups.
• Cloud Platforms: Exposure to AWS / GCP / Azure for hosting and monitoring.
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with Grafana, New Relic, or similar tools for uptime and
performance tracking.
• Database Knowledge: Understanding of MySQL / PostgreSQL / Redis for basic operations.
Analytical & Reporting Skills
• MS Excel (Advanced): Strong proficiency for operational reporting, pivot tables, data analysis,
and metric tracking.
• Ability to generate performance dashboards and trend analysis reports.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset for identifying root causes.
Soft Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong coordination skills between tech, product, and operations teams.
• Process-oriented with high attention to detail.
• Problem-solving attitude and decision-making under pressure.
• Leadership qualities to manage small teams and mentor junior members.
• Adaptability to fast-paced, dynamic work environments.
• Strong ownership and accountability for deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Experience in SaaS / CRM / Real Estate tech domains (preferred).
• Exposure to Ruby on Rails or Node.js environments.
• Basic scripting (Bash/Python) for automation tasks.
