How to design your interior with wood?

One of the ancient and universal naturally formed objects is wood. Wood is literally used for a lot of things in India. The use of wood has been done over centuries and centuries starting from the stone age era.

In India, artistic structures and temple constructions started from wood. Wood has helped us to design 60% of our home, which is the reason why today I am going to talk about how you could use wood effectively to design your safe haven. Let’s have a look…

  • Best quality wood

Use only the best quality of wood because that will last longer. If you use too many different types of colorful wood it just spoils the look and design you wish to showcase to your bedroom or living room. As I said using wood that will last is more important so try using Burma Teak, which is so hard that it does not crack easily. You can use this wood for your flooring, windows as well as doors.

  • Wood if you have children around

If you have children around playing all day then it is advisable to avoid light furniture, which can cause an unnecessary mishap. Try installing furniture which is slightly heavy and has round edges. Also, you should make sure that your children don’t lick the surface of the furniture as it contains a chemical coating on it. Children are the masters of spilling if their hands get on sauces and juices. You cannot prevent your child from spilling but all you can do is clean your furniture with a thick coat of Polyurethane which keeps the wood clean and also protects it from corrosion.

  • Products for keeping your wooden furniture clean

Wooden surfaces are often polished by carpenters to make them look beautiful. If your furniture is very old and you wish to keep it maintained then some products will add life to your wooden furniture.

  • DUCO & PU Paints
  • PU/ Melamine

If you do not wish to buy any such products then you can also use Lemon oil that has been made commercially can be used. A basic polish can be made by combining 1 cup olive oil with 1/4 cup white vinegar. Pour it onto a clean cloth and wipe it into the wood in the direction of the grain. Polish till the surface is glossy.

Knowing how to clean wood furniture will help you maintain your belongings in good condition for longer.
