Digitization of land and tax records in India
To improve accessibility to India’s land record system, the Central Government launched the Computerisation of Land Records initiative in 1988-89, with the goal of digitising all land records. All of these records were consolidated into a single centrally-sponsored programme in 2008, the National Land Records Modernization Programme (NLRMP), which is now known as the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) as part of the Digital India agenda.
