Here’s all about Mumbai Nagpur Expressway

If all goes according to plan, the connection between Maharashtra’s two most important cities, Mumbai and Nagpur, will become smoother and shorter as the Mumbai Nagpur Expressway nears completion.

The Mumbai Nagpur Expressway, also known as the Maharashtra SamruddhiMahamarg, would traverse through 392 villages in ten districts, reducing travel time between the two cities to seven hours. The construction of SamruddhiMahamarg, estimated to cost Rs 55,000 crores, will need the acquisition of around 9,900 hectares of land. Along the SamruddhiMahamarg, 10,000 hectares of land may be used to create the KrushiSamruddhi Nagar, and 145 hectares of land can be used for infrastructure and centers. The Maharashtra government recently implemented an extension. The Maharashtra government has extended the Maharashtra SamruddhiMahamarg to Bhandara-Gondia and Gadchiroli, which are located east and southeast of Nagpur. This is the second extension that the SamruddhiMahamarg has received, following the Jalna-Nanded extension last year.

SamruddhiMahamarg, which was built and completed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), is one of the only completely new expressways in Maharashtra and will be constructed for speeds of up to 150 kilometers per hour. Around 24 townships are being planned alongside the SamruddhiMahamarg direction map, which will help to boost economic development in some of the country’s less developed areas. The Mumbai Nagpur Expressway will also pass through the Western Ghats’ rugged terrain. This eight-lane Mumbai Nagpur Expressway will be reconfigured to include six lanes and additional provider roads.

The cost of building the Mumbai Nagpur Expressway is estimated to be over Rs 50,000 crores, with an additional Rs 25,000 crores likely to be spent on land acquisition. The land for the SamruddhiMahamarg mission was gained through a pooling scheme, in which farmers receive 30% of the developed land elsewhere. In addition, as part of the Mumbai Nagpur motorway project, farmers may receive Rs 50,000 per hectare for non-irrigated property and Rs 1 lakh per year for irrigated land for the next ten years.

According to media estimates, the Samruddhi Mahamarg contemporary repute is that the Mumbai Nagpur Expressway completes around 70% of the civil construction paintings. From the Nagpur Mumbai Expressway’s Nagpur stop, Samruddhi Mahamarg can be rendered operational in stages.
