In South Delhi, there are a number of popular renting centers for students

South Delhi, which is home to a number of educational institutions, is still a hotspot for students.

Whereas the neighbourhood is known for its high-end rentals, it also has a slew of reasonably priced Paying Guest (PG) hotels that appeal to youthful travellers.

South Delhi is a well-known educational region featuring numerous prestigious colleges, in addition to a premium residential sector. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), and Delhi University’s South campus, for example, all draw thousands of students from around India. However, because most students choose PG lodgings because of the cheaper rents and superior amenities, Lajpat Nagar, Saket, Kalkaji, Greater Kailash, and Malviya Nagar continue to be the most popular in South Delhi.

Lajpat Nagar

Lajpat Nagar, a famous student renting area, provides a variety of PG choices, include separate bedrooms, double beds, and triple beds. Monthly rents for double sharing rooms are Rs 5,500-12,000 per bed, according to 99acres ads, and single room PGs in Lajpat Nagar are available for Rs 9,500-13,000 per month. Maintenance and meal services are included in the rents. Most PGs may additionally have facilities such as a television, air conditioning, a geyser, and Wi-Fi. The South Campus of Delhi University, Annamalai University, and Sri Venkateswara College are just few educational institutions near Lajpat Nagar that are easily accessible through DTC buses and a designated Blue Line metro station.

In addition, the region is a major shopping destination. The Central Market in Lajpat Nagar serves a variety of recreational requirements for students and is home to some of South Delhi’s greatest street food outlets.

Students attending Jamia Milia Islamia University (4 km) and Deshbandhu College flock to Kalkaji, which is situated along the Outer Ring Road (650 m). There are various single and double sharing PG alternatives in the region, each with its own set of features. Jamia Milia Islamia University is indeed a learning center for Indira Gandhi National Open University, according to Gagan Sethi, owner of G K Associates (IGNOU). As a result, Kalkaji has become popular with working professionals who wish to continue their education. Many individuals choose PGs to preserve a work-study balance since they provide cleaning, washing, and food services, allowing them to concentrate on their education and careers.PG rentals in Kalkaji start at Rs 5,500 per bed and go up to Rs 15,000 per bed per month. Some primary commercial centres near Kalkaji are Nehru Place and Okhla Industrial Area, both of which are conveniently accessible by a designated Magenta Line metro station.

Students love Saket because it has a designated Yellow Line Metro Station and is close to Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, IIT-Delhi, Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, and the Qutab Institutional Area (4.7 km). Monthly PG rates in this city range from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per bed, plus security deposits equal to one month’s rent (According to reports). In addition, the majority of PG lodgings in this area are fitted and include both maintenance and culinary services. Overseas students would appreciate the accessibility of the IGI Airport and HazratNizammudin Railway Station, which are both around 30-40 minutes away.

Although Saket has several shops, food stores, marketplaces, and gymnasiums catering to the young population, damaged connecting roads and rubbish mounds at various spots generate a terrible odor and require maintenance.

Malviya Nagar

Students studying at IIT-Delhi, NIFT, and Sri Aurobindo College prefer to rent premises in Malviya Nagar because of the good transportation options and a dedicated Metro Station on the Yellow Line. Many PG alternatives are available in the region, ranging from group sharing rooms to solo beds. Monthly rents start at Rs 4,500 per bed, making it one of the most cost-effective PG options in South Delhi.  There are several food stores, treatment centers, and entertainment choices in the region. The primary entertainment alternatives here are Select City Walk and PVR Anupam, which are approximately one Km apart, and Qila Rai Pithora Park, which is around two kilometers apart.

Greater Kailash

Greater Kailash is a posh neighbourhood with large marketplaces in M and N Blocks and notable eateries. Because of its proximity to Gargi College, Lady Shree Ram, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, and Deshbandhu College, it attracts a large student population. Monthly PG room rates in this city start at Rs 7,500 per bed for a double sharing room and go up to Rs 35,000 for a single room. Electricity costs, Wi-Fi, restaurant work, and laundry service are usually included in the rent. Although the Greater Kailash Metro Station on the Magenta and Violet Lines is a popular choice among students, plenty opt to use their own cars. Local shopping centers include Select City Walk and MGF Metropolitan Mall.
