Wakad is PCMC’s fastest-growing neighbourhood, followed by Ravet and Punawale

PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: Wakad is rapidly expanding and has obtained the most development permits of any city in India. The Rajiv Gandhi Information and Technology (IT) Park in Hinjewadi is close by.

Rahatni, Ravet, and Punawale villages, which are close to the IT Park, have also seen a surge in development activity. Chikhli and Moshi are two more locations on the other side of Pimpri Chinchwad that have seen a lot of development activity. The yearly income of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) building permit department in 2016-17 demonstrates this.

Because of their closeness to Hinjewadi IT Park, the villages of Sangvi, Pimple Saudagar, Pimple Nilakh, and Wakad have seen rapid growth in the last decade, with hundreds of IT professionals buying apartments in these villages (fringe areas). In Pimple Saudagar, the construction permit department earns Rs 14.39 crore per year, whereas in Wakad, it earns Rs 70.68 crore.

Rahatni, Ravet, and Punawale, which are also near to the Hinjewadi IT Park, are seeing a surge in building activity as the previously agricultural and open space is converted into a concrete jungle by new housing and commercial complexes. Ravet is the city’s second-fastest-growing periphery region, with the department earning the second-highest revenue of Rs 29.97 crore. Punawale is lagging behind, with the construction permit department generating Rs 23.82 crore in the current fiscal year. Rahatni, which is close to Pimple Saudagar, has seen fast development as well, with the department receiving Rs 22.84 crore annually.

Chikhli, which is close to Talawade IT Park as well as the industrial belts of Pimpri, Chinchwad, and Bhosari, has seen a lot of growth, with the construction department receiving Rs 28.24 crore every year. Because the Pune-Nashik highway runs through Moshi, which is located beside the Indrayani River, it has seen considerable growth. Furthermore, it is near to the Pimpri, Chinchwad, and Bhosari industrial belts.

“The market costs of apartments and land in Chikhli and Moshi are low compared to other regions of Pimpri Chinchwad city,” said Ayubkhan Pathan, joint city engineer. As a result, buyers looking for a bargain house are flocking to this area. Large swaths of undeveloped land are accessible here.”

By allotting over 1,200 construction licenses, the department of building clearances met its annual objective of Rs 320 crore for 2016-17.
