Mathrubhoomi’s Innovative Pilot Project Expands to Pune and 10 Other Districts!

Pune is one of 11 districts that the national government has chosen for the Matulbumi pilot project, which intends to combine all geospatial data for land parcels onto a single webpage. Districts with cadastral maps have been selected for pilot projects and will soon be replicated across the country. 

According to a senior official from the central government’s Land Resources Department who spoke on the record on the condition of anonymity, data collecting is still ongoing in 11 counties. Ta. The integration of fundamental cadastral or geographical maps, together with revenue qualities and other information, will be the focus of the pilot project activity. These maps will then be published on the Center’s Matulbumi Portal. According to him, the combined data would be utilized for a variety of things, including crop insurance, disaster relief, and land purchase.

The official stated, “We intend to test the portal before making it available.” The Mathurbumi initiative aims to advance sustainable land management practices and digital land governance across the nation. Unified access to land data and services will be made possible via data integration. He also said that the pilot project work in a few areas across 11 states, including Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, was almost over. According to a representative of the State Department of Land Resources, “If the government wants to acquire land for a project, they can upload the map to the geoportal and see details such as the number of parcels under it and the actual value of the property.” Ta.
