Unraveling NREGA: India’s Rural Employment Revolution!
NREGA stands for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, also known as the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA). The scheme also emphasizes transparency and accountability. Job cards are issued to registered workers, which contain details of their entitlements and records of employment. Worksite facilities, such as drinking water, shade, and crèche, are also provided to ensure the well-being of workers.

It has empowered rural communities by providing them with income-generating opportunities and creating durable assets such as roads, water conservation structures, and irrigation facilities.
